In the last few weeks, choir singers have almost forgotten the term “choir retreat”. Since mid-March, the exact opposite has been the case. Even if the current circumstances prohibit normal rehearsals at the STUTTGARTER ORATORIENCHOR – we are still ACTIVE! And this is how it is: everyone sings in their own rooms at home. The choir is more or less in remote work. Each singer practises and learns new things for himself/herself at home and in this way keeps his/her own voice supple. This is done with the help of practice files for the Hummel oratorio Der Durchzug durchs rote Meer. These were elaborately recorded and sung in the individual choir parts by our conductor Enrico and his wife Michaela… Everyone for oneself – but nevertheless all together – that is the message in these times.
To the summer concert 2020
“All major events will be canceled by the end of August” – with this decision by the federal and state governments a long lasting break to quite a lot of concerts will come. Whether church concerts, theater, cabaret, etc. will be allowed again soon is still written in the stars at the moment. In this respect, unfortunately, there is only one decision left: The performance of Der Durchzug durchs rote Meer will be postponed to next year. The article picture reminds us of many wonderful concerts last year and the year before and gives us hope…
